SEVA Foundation is a public charitable trust founded in Kolkata in 2024. We bring professional discipline in law, finance and compliance to grassroots social work.
Our story
Kartavya, the duty to serve
Every one of us carries a duty: the hands to help, the feet to reach those in need, and the mind to lift others towards self-reliance. SEVA Foundation was founded to turn that duty into organised, measured and sustained action.
We began close to home, with meal services at Nimtala Ghat, food distribution in slums and orphanages, a Gaushala, and PoSH awareness workshops for workplaces. Those programmes now form a structured portfolio ready for partnership.

Our trustees serve in an honorary capacity and meet at least quarterly.
Sumit Kumar
Chairman & Managing Trustee
An advocate practising in tax, corporate and regulatory law, Sumit brings legal and governance discipline to SEVA. He sets the Foundation's strategy and leads its PoSH awareness and legal-literacy work.
Rima Shaw
Treasurer
A working professional and dedicated social worker, Rima oversees SEVA's finances, budgeting and donor accountability, and is closely involved in its food-distribution work in Kolkata.
Krishna Deo Yadav
Secretary
A working professional and committed social worker, Krishna Deo manages SEVA's administration, statutory records and volunteer coordination, and supports its field programmes in the community.
